Gnibble the Gnome

Well.. I haven't made a plushie in three months. Now it's Halloween and instead of making my usual alien or monster, I've gone and made my first attempt at a gnome! Also, he is my smallest plushie (other than the simple plushie pebble pets) at only 10cm (4 inches) in height.

A little known fact.. gnomes are the tastiest creatures on the planet.. this is where we get the expression of when we eat tasty food "NOM NOM NOM" (GNOME GNOME GNOME). They were brought to the brink of extinction by the Roman empire and their insatiable appetite and indeed the whole reason for the Romans reaching out so far was to find more gnomes.. and the roads were created in order to get the gnomes back to Rome as expeditiously as possible.

Although humans are now largely unaware of their wonderful flavour.. aliens are not. One alien has been specially designed to eat gnomes in one bite with his vertical mouth that can chomp the gnome whilst avoiding the tall pointy hat. Gnome's hats are their only defence against being eaten, they are hard and sharp and will cause great pain to anything trying to eat them. Except for Voracio the gnome-eating alien!

Yeah, I have a friend from high school who once said I laugh like a garden gnome. I tend to chuckled when I find something overly entertaining, but I never could figure out how she knew what a gnome laughs like. Ever since then (and watching "Amelie") I've been fascinated with gnomes. It's a good thing I think. haha

ah, Amelie is a wonderful film.. though I'd had the idea of doing a gnome for some time, it was only after seeing it that I decided to actually make one.

heheh I don't really know what a gnome laugh sounds like.. but I bet it's pretty awesome!

Heheheh thanksies.. I are glad you approve! Belt buckle is a bit of paper clip bent into shape.

Actually didn't have much room to move with the eyes as the backs of them are wider than they eyes themselves! AND those eyes are smallest I have; 4.5mm and 6mm. He so small!

The only problem with having made a gnome is there needs to be more of them!
